Yes, traditional bullet trains do have wheels.
The term "bullet train" usually refers to Japan's Shinkansen or similar high-speed rail systems in Europe and China (such as the TGV or CRH). These trains, like ordinary trains, use steel wheels and run on standard steel rails.
The difference between bullet trains and ordinary trains lies not in the use of wheels, but in their advanced engineering technology that allows the train wheels to operate safely at extremely high speeds (up to 200-220 mph or 320-360 km/h). These technologies include:
1. Precision wheels and axles: Machined with extreme precision to prevent vibrations at high speeds.
2. Continuously welded rails: The rails are welded together without any "clicking" gaps, providing a perfectly smooth surface.
3. Aerodynamic design: The train employs aerodynamic design to effectively reduce wind resistance and maintain train stability.
