Our forged rail and locomotive components include:

1. Ball joint.

We use forging to achieve different ball joint shapes to suit a variety of rail industry applications.

By forging your valve, you eliminate possible problems such as cracks, porosity, and shrinkage.

Forging is ideal for safety components such as pinions, shock absorbers, levers and cams.

Rail forging process

1. The first step in forging is to choose the metal. Commonly used metals include aluminum, carbon, copper, brass, stainless steel, cobalt, titanium, nickel, molybdenum and alloy metals.

2. Once the metal is selected and cut to size, it is heated to the appropriate temperature for shaping.

3. Depending on the forging method, the metal can be inserted into a mold and compressed or pressed between the two dies. With cold forging, the operator brings the workpiece to room temperature and works it manually.

4. After forging, track components may require secondary finishing processes such as trimming.
